Jan Egeland, the U.N. Emergency Relief Coordinator warned that time is running out for many of the homeless earthquake survivors.
"People are dying as we speak because we're not there in all of these villages where there are wounded people," Egeland said.
And the snow that is now falling in areas of Kashmir is making matters more urgent.
Pakistan’s president Gen. Pervez Musharraf said that about 2.5 million people are homeless because of the quake and that the country’s top priority is reaching and helping them as quickly as possible.
The rescue effort is now a “race against time” to reach people before they die.
