Millions of people are now homeless because of the massive quake that hit Pakistan on October 8th. Most of the homeless are in the Himalayan regions of northern Pakistan and India.
Sheltering and caring for all of the individuals will be a steep challenge for the Pakistanin and Indian governments.
And because the public sanitation system has largely been destroyed in the affected areas, the threat of disease looms large.
Medial teams are thus heading to the earthquake zone in anticipation of disease outbreaks.
